Timeless Teacher Stuff
School and Camp Songs with Chords and Lyrics
This page contains a number of songs, traditional and holiday, which I used in my classroom. Generally speaking
the guitar chords are in a key which I found that suited the vocal range of elementary school students.
The cords are suitable for use, of course, with several other instruments commonly found in many classrooms such as
tone bells, xylophone, autoharp and keyboard, and children can have fun playing the songs themselves.
These are all common tunes. If you are unfamiliar with the melodies, a google search for the lyrics will lead to
myriad sites, some of which actually have a sample of the sound, or even a file you can download for later playing.
For example, a search for "Apples And Bananas Lyrics" can lead to over 100,000 hits and in the first couple of
listed items I found a very nice sample of its melody at the Songs For Teaching site. Click this link to check it out!
Samples of the melodies of some are provided in Quicktime format.
Each is in the format of a downloadable, printable .pdf file.
If you don't have a .pdf reader for your .pdf files, download a free Adobe Reader here.
Other English songs (Check out this site for hundreds of English songs outside of the U.S.) as well as
